Testnet

A parallel network mirroring a blockchain's behavior with valueless tokens, used to test before deploying to mainnet.

Testnets are for rehearsal, and they are imperfect rehearsals: they carry less traffic, fewer contracts, and different fee dynamics. Code that works on a testnet has been shown not to be obviously broken, which is not the same as being ready.
